D Y T Y ?

How’s it going MARS fam!

BIG question today – DO YOU TRUST YOURSELF?

Seems like a redundant question because for most of us, especially after being hurt or let down, is “I” am the only one I can truly trust. But is it really true?

Maybe it’s something you haven’t actually thought about, or maybe it’s something you ask yourself often.

How many times have you set a goal, and not accomplished it?

How often have you had an idea, only to let it drown in a sea of doubt or laziness?

How many times have you let yourself down?

I say this because it took a long time for me to realize that I was confusing movement with progression. I wasn’t progressing because I wasn’t trusting myself to make a decision and stick to it no matter what. I was afraid to put myself out there because “what if it doesn’t go anywhere” ? WHO CARES!

A few years back I started setting small goals for myself.

Fitness. Spiritually. Giving to others. Etc…

Small goals like “this week I’ll take my dogs to the park and study”.

I didn’t give myself a time to be there, or a topic to study – I simply stated that I would go, and I went. It was in small goals like this, AND following through with them that little by little gave me the confidence that I…..CAN….DO….ANYTHING. All I had to do was set a goal – and GO.

Friends this is SO important!

Most of the time, it’s not a lack of motivation that we have. The motivation is there – it comes and it goes – BUT if you are constantly in a cycle of idea after idea, goal after goal, and a year later realize you didn’t actually move forward….you may have a trust issue with yourself. You feel defeated so that anytime you speak your intentions into the world, you don’t even trust yourself to follow through because in the past you’ve let yourself down.

Don’t give up on yourself – You WILL be your biggest fan. Your wildest competitor will be your own mind.

I leave this short piece with another question :

WHAT WILL YOU ACCOMPLISH TODAY?

Make it small & make it happen.
